Why an Apprentice Mind is Important for Success?
I’ve recently signed up for the Knowledge Business Blueprint (KBB) online course by Tony Robbins, Dean Graziosi, and Russell Brunson that was launched on April. 30th, and attended by 240,000+ people online.
Tony is one of the most well-known names in the self-growth industry, and has coached many leaders and celebrities in the last 42 years. Dean started the same 20 years ago as Tony’s student, and Russel founded ClickFunnel that went from 0 to 100M+ without outside investment in 3 years.
The KBB course aims to teach people how to extract their personal knowledge and experiences to teach others by forming “mastermind groups”, which are peer-to-peer mentoring groups where each member would help others with resolving problems, be it business or life issues.
Why is this important?
Because as automation from AI, robotics, and blockchain might take over people’s jobs, the most “human” skills that machines likely won’t catch any time soon, are our abilities to empathize, to teach, and to share with other human beings, which are what mastermind groups are about.
The better part is that it can also become a source of income for the teachers or hosts for masterminds, as people will genuinely learn and get values out and be willing to pay for the knowledge / experience / wisdom otherwise costly or difficult to acquire.
The difficult part though is “HOW”? Even if self-education is a growing industry towards USD 1 billion / day as Tony predicts, whether you will be part of it still takes learning and practice, and that’s what the course is about.
The first lesson, however, as Tony explained in the intro, is to be able to not just learn, but also practice what is learned. And not just learn once, but many, many times, repeatedly.
Tony’s own example is that he was a student and broker for Jim Rohn, where he would host seminars after seminars for his mentor Jim. Each time, although he’s probably already heard Jim speaking the same content, even the same jokes, he still feverishly took notes and learned.
And every time he learned something new and different. That’s the “apprentice’s mind”.
The results? Tony is now one of the legends who owns 50+ companies with over USD 6 billion of annual revenue.
I owe my regular blog writing to Russel Brunson as well, after he explained that you should “publish” regularly, preferably every day, to find your voice, and your audience, to what you can offer to the world.
I keep his advice in mind.
